At the invitation of Dr. Layla S. Diba, Her Imperial Majesty attended a public lecture at the Library of Congress in Washington D.C. on Tuesday, April 11, 2017. The lecture was entitled “Kamal al-Molk and the Invention of the Modern Iranian Landscape”. In attendance also were Robert Newlen, Deputy Librarian Library of Congress, Dr, Joan Weeks, Dr. Mary Jane Deeb, and Hirad Diravani, Reference Librarian of the Iranian World Collections, African and Middle Eastern Division, Near East Section. Dr. Diba was Featured as Nowruz 2017 Lecturer of the Division.
