I am deeply saddened to announce the loss of one of Iran’s most patriotic servants, Mr. Kambiz Atabai. A senior official in Iran during the reign of His Majesty The Late shah, his professional life included the position of Adjutant to His Imperial Majesty the Late Shah, , Director-General of Technical and Public Services of the Imperial Court of Iran, Secretary-General of the Royal Horse Association, President of the Equestrian Federation of Iran, President of the Football Federation of Iran, and President of the Asian Football Confederation, elevating Iran’s position in the international world of football.
He accompanied His Majesty and I during our trip to Egypt in December 1979.
For the past four decades, with the discipline that was characteristic of him, Kambiz Atabai has diligently handled matters related to my office, including communication with my fellow countrymen both within Iran and abroad. To me, Kambiz Atabai was a dear friend. I wish patience and fortitude for his beloved wife and children during this difficult time. His memory will forever remain bright and vivid in my heart.
