Dear Compatriots,
The traditional Persian celebration of Chahar Shanbe Suri symbolizes the triumph of light over darkness. This year, I observe this cherished ceremony in the honor and memory of the thousands of immortal souls of the “Lion and Sun Revolution”, young men and women who, like Siavash, fell innocently upon the sacred soil of their homeland.
We honor their sacrifice and courage, as well as your strength and resilience. Your loved ones were among the finest children of this land and the pride of a great and ancient land.
As a mother, a wife, and a fellow citizen, I say to the grieving families of those who sacrificed their lives for our homeland: your pain and sorrow are my pain, and the pain of the great nation of Iran.
It is my conviction that light will overcome darkness, and that the sacred flames of patriotism will shield Iran, our beloved homeland.
Long live Iran.
Farah Pahlavi
